University of New Mexico - Amigo Scholarship
Description
Available to students with 23 ACT (1060 SAT) and 3.5 GPA or 26 ACT (1170 SAT) and 3.0 GPA. Available to residents and non-residents To maintain the award, must complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters). Scholarships are traditionally known as merit based, and a competitive process usually accompanies the activities surrounding selection and monitoring of the various programs. You must apply for admissions to UNM to be considered for any merit scholarship. The Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid administer the majority of Scholarships at the University of New Mexico. Scholarship awards and selection processes are subject to change. Merit scholarships are based on any number of criteria including items such as academic performance and leadership potential. Please note that these programs are very competitive and the criteria listed for these scholarships represent the minimum requirements to be considered. No scholarship application necesary. Must be ADMITTED to UNM by February 1. Master or PhD applicants must have:
A previous university minimum grade point average of 3.0
Nomination of the graduate program to which the applicant is applying
Admission to a full-time, in-person graduate degree program (Online only programs are not eligible.)
Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders- F1, J1)
No UNM research, teaching, or project assistantship
No previous attendance at UNM in the current application degree level.
