The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas
Description
Not admitting scholars due to Covid. The Program blends classroom and independent study, leadership, service, cultural, travel, and pre-professional experiences, providing participants with unmatched personal development opportunities. Students who have the best chance of being invited to McDermott Finalists’ Weekend will have: 1400 or higher on the two part SAT (verbal and math); 2100 or higher on the three part SAT; 32 or higher on the ACT; a class rank in the top five percent of their graduating class; long records of community volunteerism and leadership in school; broad and eclectic interests in science, literature, and the arts; and social skills to interact easily with adults as well as peers. The Program welcomes all majors. Applications are accepted from across Texas, the U.S., and the world. McDermott Scholars applicants must apply to UT Dallas before the regular deadline. Applicants will fill out the online application and request the required letters of recommendation. Applicants must complete the separate application for admission to The University of Texas at Dallas as well as application for this program and other required items.The McDermott Scholars application must be completed and submitted online. Please send a high school transcript to our office before the winter break.
