Therefore, criteria for selection for the Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship include leadership potential, academic achievement, personal talents, unique work or service experience, financial need, overcoming personal adversity, and the candidate's understanding and appreciation of diversity. Only entering freshmen are eligible to apply for this award. Applications from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged. Recipients for this award must be citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States, must be admitted into an undergraduate degree program at NC State University, and must present evidence of financial need as well as achievement and promise in both leadership and scholarship. Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship applicants must demonstrate a significant level of financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA, in order to receive the scholarship.
