essay; Must be a high school sophomore, junior or senior who is a US citizen or legal alien. Must enter contest through a local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). Must submit an essay dealing with an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the US constitution. Essay will be judged for historical accuracy, clarity of thought, organization and proven topic, grammar and spelling, and documentation.
