Malone Endowment, The Vernon Malone Scholar Award

Description

Criteria for The Vernon Malone Scholar Award:
• Must provide official acceptance letter from Wake Technical Community College to Student
Services staff before completing application
• Minimum GPA: 2.5 (weighted)
• Documented Community Service hours, to be submitted with application packet
• Completed Application, including:
o Student Profile
o Essay
o Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from: teacher, counselor, community service
member, or internship supervisor
Scholarship Award:
Non-renewable scholarship checks will be made dispersed to the student. The Vernon Malone
Scholar Award will be paid to the total of $1,000; made in two installments of $500 per semester.
**Requirements to receive the second scholarship installment are as follows:
1. Provide a copy of your final grades from Semester 1
2. Provide a copy of spring semester registration
3. Earn a minimum cumulative/overall 3.0 GPA
