Description
The older person CANNOT be a parent; they can be a grandparent, older friend, mentor, aunt/uncle, neighbor, etc.
Submit entries on the Internet at www.legacyproject.org. Each entry submitted must include: 1) entrant's complete name and age (age stated must be as of the date the entry is submitted); co-entrant's complete name and age (age stated must be as of the date the entry is submitted); the relationship of the entrants (i.e. grandchild/grandparent or young friend/grandfriend); entrant's complete street address, telephone number (including area code), valid e-mail address; entrant's teacher's name and school name; and the total number of words in the entry (not to exceed 300 words). 2) An original, true story about a real event or experience in the older entrant's life. The entry must be based on an actual interview the young person completes in person, over the phone, or via the Internet with a living older adult. An entry cannot be based on a story the young person has been told by another person or has overheard. It must also be a true, real-life story, not creative fiction. An entry must be a completely original work and not previously published or submitted in any other competition. If an entry is plagiarized in any way from another source, it will be disqualified.
An entry must be in English and not exceed 300 words. All words in an entry are counted – including "a, and, the" and so on, and including a title if one is used (but a title is not required).
